Dr. Christina Betta
Associate Veterinarian
DVM
Hi, my name is Dr. Christina Betta, and I am an Associate Veterinarian at Everhart Veterinary Medicine. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy sports (go Ravens, O's, and Terps!), board games, and knitting.
I share my home with Piper, my lovely cattle dog mix that I adopted in veterinary school. A fun fact: my parents didn't allow me to have pets growing up, so she is my first pet, and I've learned so much about loving a pet and being a pet parent from having her. She also frequently joins me at work and is a staff favorite.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is forming connections with owners and their pets. My favorite areas of veterinary care include internal medicine and dermatology, and I have a special interest in geriatrics, pain management, and acupuncture.
Why I Chose This Profession
I chose this profession out of my love for animals, my passion for science, and the thrill of solving problems and helping others.
Education
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, where I studied from 2009 to 2013. I then attended the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine from 2014 to 2018, earning my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. I am also a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist, certified in 2013 through Curacore.
Memberships
I am a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
Work History
I worked for multiple years as a technician at various veterinary hospitals in the Maryland area, including time at VOSM, an orthopedic specialty practice, as a rehabilitation technician. After veterinary school, I worked for a year in a mixed general practice and emergency hospital outside of Philadelphia before joining Everhart Veterinary Medicine.
